Green Cardamom

The spice that invariably finds its way into every festive sweet is green cardamom(ஏலக்காய்), and it’s only natural to crown this “Queen of Spices” as our Spice of the Month

One of the most expensive spices in the world — second only to saffron and vanilla. The green cardamom is native to the lush forests of South-West India. Its unmistakable aroma and delicate yet complex flavour make it truly exceptional.

Beyond its culinary magic, cardamom is prized for its anti-inflammatory properties, its ability to aid digestion, and its incredible versatility. From flavouring food and drinks like chai, to being used in ancient Egyptian perfumes, natural mouth fresheners, and Ayurvedic medicine, this little green pod has travelled centuries and cultures with grace.

A spice that’s tiny in size but mighty in charm — worthy of every festive celebration.
